The folks who did the fabulous and important ‘Story of Stuff’ animation have just come out with another timely message: The Story of Cosmetics. It’s right on, and I’m so excited to see something like this get out into the mainstream. So please help spread the word, watch the clip and send it out to your friends. Things won’t change without us changing first.
Thank You, Maine
The other weekend I again headed out of town for an excursion beyond the city limits. This time it was to coastal Maine. For years now I have been hearing of the amazing herbal garden of herbalist Deb Soule, and figured it was about time to make a visit and see it for myself. Off a quite road in Rockport, ME, this garden blooms and flourishes. It was such an inspiration for me to finally visit this special place - and to be on the grounds where Avena Botanicals formulations are crafted. The gardens are just full of medicinal herbs. Here’s a few shots of the garden entrance, a lovely Sage, Bee Balm and me with some sweet Mullein…
Harvard Market Today!
I’m off to one of my most favorite markets in all of town – the Harvard Farmer’s Market. I’ll have my array of herbal goodness, and testers on hand for everyone to try out. I’ll be surrounded by a bounty of fresh produce, baked goods, locally made chocolate and potted herbs and plants. I’ll be there from 12:30 till 6, under my white tent. Come on down and join me! I’ll have some cooling aromatherapy sprays on hand to spritz on in this heat, and there’s a sprinkling rock fountain nearby if you feel like you need to run through like a kid. Hope to see you there. Stay cool!
